Announcing Workshop 1 of the UNO Community Memory Project
Whose Logo Is This?
This event is an interactive workshop exploring how the University of New Orleans represents itself, and how that compares to people’s lived experiences.
Drawing from oral history interviews with students, alumni, staff, and faculty, this session invites participants to reflect on UNO’s visual identity, including its logo and the meaning of the “Privateer.” Together, we’ll look at how symbols shape institutional identity and even generate new symbols of our own.
This is a collaborative, discussion-based workshop. You don’t need any prior knowledge or design experience--just a connection to UNO and a willingness to share your perspective.
Participants will engage with interview and archival excerpts, respond to prompts, and have the opportunity to create their own representation of UNO.
Open to students, alumni, staff, faculty, and community members. Light refreshments provided. LIMITED SEATS AVAILABLE! Reserve your spot today: https://UNOCMPWorkshop1.eventbrite.com
