I had a good job at NASA but thought it would be more fun to work at a university
“I am 89 years old and worked at LSUNO and UNO from 1964 to 1996. I was the first photographer hired at the NASA Michoud facility in 1962 when it opened. I was also a member of the United States Naval Air Reserve and did photography there. I joined the Navy in 1956 and trained at the Naval Air station on the Lakefront of Lake Pontchartrain in New Orleans. While I was working at Michoud a fellow Naval Reservist mentioned to me that LSUNO was hiring a photographer. I had a good job at NASA but thought it would be more fun to work at a university with young students and the positive interaction and versatile projects that a university provides. I applied for the job and was hired.”
