I was in the first class in 1958

I was in the first class in 1958. Graduated 1963.
My son And Daughter graduated from UNO, son with a master’s in Electrical Engineering and daughter has an Accounting degree and then became a CPA.
We mused that now my degree is good again as LSUNO. Just joking, of course. Excellent education for all three of us. When I graduated the Liberal Art Blg was the only new building. The black students were harassed in the old hangar. Where the students congregated. It settled down after the first semester Most of my professors were PHD’s. We got along well but they were tough on grading. Hard to get an A. My education propelled me to the top of my company. It made a man out of me also. I’m so grateful for UNO
My name is on that board in the alumni building by the smoke stack. Dr Altazan and Dr Socola and Dr Jack Reinike were my heroes and mentors.

We were a proud bunch. First graduation class of 1962! However, so many of us were short one credit hour needed to graduate. So we had to take a class in summer school and graduate in 1963.
We still did all reunions with our 1962 class. Many of us were sad that we could not be with our classmates in 1962.

Today folks would laugh at that but in those old days it meant a lot.

Our photos are in the 1962 yearbook and our rings said 1962.
😞😡😊😂🤪

Thanks to UNO, I can now be part of a small, but growing, percentage of undocumented women with a bachelor’s degree.
